The Challenge
The client was replacing the main laser machine within their workshop with a new unit that had different electrical load and supply requirements. The existing electrical supply serving the original machine therefore needed to be safely disconnected and removed, with the installation altered to provide the correct power requirements for the replacement equipment.
The project also required coordination around the installation of the new machinery, ensuring that the necessary three-phase power and associated supplies, including the extraction system, were available and correctly configured before the equipment could be put into operation.
The Solution
LS Electrical initially attended the workshop to safely isolate and remove the electrical supply to the existing laser machine. The electrical installation was then modified to accommodate the load requirements of the new equipment, with the necessary supplies connected back to a local distribution board.
Once the new laser had been positioned and installed, our electricians returned to complete the final electrical connections. This included connecting the machine and its three-phase extraction system, followed by the appropriate electrical testing and verification to ensure the new installation was safe and ready for operation.
By coordinating the electrical work around the machinery replacement, LS Electrical provided the client with a complete electrical solution from initial disconnection and supply alterations through to final connection and testing.
